Upper bavarians visited their former emergency vehicle
The geisenbrunn firefighters visited their former fire truck in romershofen.
Two years ago, the romershofen fire department was looking for a new or used fire truck. This was found on the internet in geisenbrunn. Geisenbrunn is located about 22 kilometers west of the city center in munich, between germering and gilching. It is a district of the municipality of gilching and now has a population of around 1500.
After the romershofen firefighters had viewed the vehicle on site, they quickly agreed on the purchase. The car entered service in the konigsberg district in the spring of 2017.
Agreement
The purchase agreement was accompanied by a promise to invite each other and to cultivate the camaraderie between the two forces. In the last years a delegation of the fire department romershofen has already visited geisenbrunn. The partner fire department from upper bavaria arrived by bus the previous weekend. 32 firefighters were interested in finding out where their beloved old fire engine had ended up.
In the morning they visited romers-hofen and looked at the car and the firehouse. There was a lively exchange between the fire departments of both towns at the meeting. Some geisenbrunn residents also said they preferred their old car to the new one that was purchased as a replacement, and reminisced about the purchase in 1990 and some of the missions that were carried out with the car that is now in romershofen.
Plant and city tours
During their excursion to habgau, the guests were given a tour of the works at the frankische rohrwerke in konigsberg. They also visited the plant fire department. A guided tour of konigsberg was also organized.
The visit ended with a convivial get-together at the unfindener braufest. Before the guests from the district of starnberg fell in love with the festival, the people of romershofen agreed to pay a return visit.
On sunday, on the way home, the geisenbrunn students got to know bamberg on a guided tour of the city. There was also a brewery tour.
